No local kitchen stores,Bear?

A few specialty stores where you pay FULL retail price. Then there is Macy's and places like that who have occasional sales. Yesterday, I stopped in at Bed Bath And Boredom because their website has a crapload of enameled cast iron. In-store, just one piece... and it was "Emerilware", and I will NOT pay for a "celebrity" name (like Rachel Ray, as well).

Oh and by the way... I was completely blown away at what a SHAMBLES BB&B is like on the inside!!! Whatta mess!!! It's like a blown-up Walmart (blown-up as in explosion). And some aisles literally TOO SKINNY for a shopping cart! What's up with that?!?!

Good morning, Bear.

I haven't been to a BB&B for several years- partly because last time i was there all tehy carried was expensive shoddy stuff. If i'm gonna buy shoddy, i want ot to at least be cheap.

Hiya CES!

Well... they did have Henckels and Wustof cutlery. Unfortunately - in both cases - it was the bottom-of-the-line sets for both brands.

I did note they have a full line of OXO products. I *might* (might) go back for some of that stuff. Other places carry it in dribs and drabs, but BB&B looked to have much more than I've ever seen before, especially in their "Good Grips" sub-brand.

@Bear...

The main reason I use cast iron IS for the regular cast iron non-stick. So...IDK what you want it for. May also look at the new (and possibly less expensive) ceramic coated stuff. But IDK if I'd buy whole sets of anything unless I thoroughly checked reviews.

There's also anodized aluminum.
