Hi Mad.

Hey Katya...(and anyone else over on the sleeps-late coast) ...

The orion capsule splashdown is scheduled for about 11:30 Eastern Time in the Pacific. You MAY be able to see it come down. Check online for times 1:16 min from this post. It's 3604 miles up and starting decent now.

P.S. Splashdown is 600 miles west of Baja CA...so it's a bit away.

P.P.S. Looks like variable clouds. :(

The live feed if anyone cares to watch (I'll miss splashdown due to timing of errands :( )

Nothing this big-for-manned-flight has flown this far since Apollo 17 (last moon mission). This is the new-generation long-distance stuff. The shuttles were basically light-pickup trucks, designed for ISS stuff (low orbit). This orion class stuff, is more like a people-moving semi-truck. Long haul of small cargo, not short-haul. I think.

P.S. This is "just" a delta-4 rocket, but the long-term setup is to put this capsule on a larger rocket. Right now they are testing the capsule.
