morning, ces! ;)

pepper - a special deck is available for the delta2 to accommodate your diy spirit - mosey on over to hg to check the line-up!

I see. you have to buy the deck for rebuilding separately. What a scam! it looks like I'm buying another lemo drop. I love these tanks.:)

GF slipped in her driveway (an incline) and hit her head. Her son called me to help take her to the hospital. He said she was talking funny. I told him to call an ambulance. She got on the phone and asked for me to take her to a med center or something. I said I'd take her downtown to emergency. By the time I got there, her son had called the ambulance. Apparently she still wasn't "right".

She had some memory loss...doesn't even remember closing the garage door and talking to her son or me. Some of her memory came back, but she still has a small gap.

They did an MRI to check for bleeding...none found.

She is to be "monitored" for symptoms and check back with head injury group today.

She has a big knob on the back of her head.

Probably the kind of thing more interesting to CES than us. According to the nurse, you can end up with bumps-to-the-brain on BOTH sides of it, as it bounces back and forth inside the skull.

Basically, the Dr. said "you probably got your bell rung real well...we'll check for bleeding."
Scary. Sounds/looks like she'll be OK.

sorry to hear that atty. hoping for a speedy recovery. I guess in short, it could be called a concussion?

On the plus side, I spent time with her son and got to help her...rather than listen to the SOTU speech. Not something I'd want to repeat though, for her sake as well as ours.

I had just been talking to her about that stupid driveway, ice, cleats, and even my going over there to do it for her. Her son said he usually does that (pull the garbage bin back up the hill) but he hadn't done it (gout was giving him issues). She thought "oh, it snowed so I'll be OK...I don't need the cleats"

Snow on top of ice helps...like 1%...and luls you into a false sense of security. My mom says the same thing about driving. So does GF's son's friend. They all say "oh, snow helps on top of slick spots". Yeah...right....not. At least "not always". Grrrrrrr

Good morning, Atty. Wow, Scary. I hope your GF recovers quickly. I'm glad there was no bleeding, and that they gave her a decent follow up recommendation.

Concussion is the word I'd use too...but maybe the word doesn't actually signify much in the way of detail or level of severity. And yeah, when you hit one side of the head there can be enough energy to bounce the brain off the other side of the skull. The initial blow is call the 'coup', and the bounce is the 'contracoup' The the cerebral spinal fluid and layers of the brain provide protection, but sometimes not enough.

Good morning, Mad. I hope your parents arrived safely on their journey.
