Crazier, if possible  [Warning!: the following story is confusing, proceed at your own risk! :D]

His latest thing is quite bizarre - he'll come straight up the steps with no problem, and go into the bedroom/computer room straight ahead of the steps. But my bedroom is across the hallway from the bedroom at the top of the steps - confusing description, but let's go with it. At the top step there used to be a short railing; but we took it down when we had the hallway floor redone (hardwood instead of carpet) last year, so you can step from the top step straight up to hallway or to the right into the hallway.
For the past week or so he will go into the bedroom at the top of the steps; but then instead of crossing the hallway to my bedroom, will instead go onto the top step and try to get up onto the hallway by going off to the right of the steps (where the railing used to be); but for some reason, hesitates about just jumping up and scrambles around for a minute or two until he makes his way onto the hallway, then comes in my bedroom.

    I think you confused him.........LOL:)

Max is just 3 years old, no physical problems - it's all in his head
