

The temperature at Richmond International Airport hit a record 101 degrees this afternoon, breaking a 34-year-old record for the date, the National Weather Service said.
The previous record was 100 degrees in 1980.
The forecast calls for highs in the low 90s Wednesday through Saturday. The high should drop to about 83 on Sunday.
Tuesday's triple-digit temperature was the second this summer. The high hit 100 on July 8.
Richmond averages 1.2 triple-digit highs per summer, the weather service said.
