Well gee,40 minutes after he left the phone rang and we did not answer. Another 1/2 hour and we hear something in the yard and the garage lights are on. Seems he was charging his car's battery. He must have got a ride back here which means the junk's broke down on the highway somewhere.

Yeah, AND it has a bad alternator....or he shut it off before it could recharge the battery. Comes from sitting around too long I'd guess.

Sigh.
Tough being poor/broke. The more I hear, the more I feel sorry for the guy. You and DH too though.
