Kodak cutting 70 positions locally

"... the company said the cuts come as the company "is re-engineering some of its operations across multiple businesses with the objectives of prioritizing our engineering investments, improving our supply chain and ensuring that our costs are aligned with our business priorities and financial commitments."

Good to see the jargon-filled double-speak still flows like lava in that hollow shell of a company.

blah, Blah, BLAH....

And...

"... As of the end of 2013, Kodak employed 8,800 worldwide, including 2,300 locally ..."

2,300 left of the over 68,000 in the late 1980s. Bravo. Well done!!! What a success!!!!

Dang..$0.55/share?

It went to $0.00 at some point last year. Then was re-issued after official bankruptcy emergence. And THOSE shares could only be BOUGHT by creditors who were still OWED money. So at THAT time... they were out megabucks and then expected to buy shares.

I think shares can now be bought by anybody.

they had 68000 locally? :?:

This is the best I could find (so far):

The peak was in 1984 after they geared up for the "Disc" camera (what a piece of CRAP!!!), and the 68,000 figure also included local subsidiary employment... such as their health care unit, chemical unit (Eastman Chemical), pharmaceutical and household products unit.

All those subsidiaries (and more) have been COMPLETELY sold off, so the employment-drop numbers reflect that as well.
