So the final word on my current job is that i take a 10% cut in salary (and hours) and the job will last through mid-August.

I also have a boatload of vacay time to use before Jan 1st. They're cutting how many days you can retain without it being rolled over into sick time, from 44 to 33, and I've accumulated 57 over the past 9 years. I didn't mind rolling the days over into sick time, because they can be used towards retirement service. Useless if i don't find another job at the university.

Hi Bear.

I think some days the machines at those places pretty much "just collect".

The swings of win-or-lose at casino west are amazing. Casino gal-pal hag ended in the black by well over $150. At least I got a lunch and tolls covered by her! :) But she also has either really good times there, or really bad times, $-wise.

(Casino east always yields, for me, small wins or losses.)

It's going to be 80-degrees+ today, so that is MY cue to get EVERYTHING completed before the major leaf drop starts next week. Later!!!

might as well take all of december off ;)
your vesting does occur before august though, right? and then there's always the possibility that things change at the university before then but probably not a good idea to count on it :(

Tibs, I'll still vest in June. And the one thing they did was structure the cut as an "alternate work schedule" so that I'll still be considered full-time at 36 hours/week. Otherwise it'd have been close. I'm hopeful that something will work out at the university- and there's a reasonable possibility that i could go full-time at my part time job (it's just not my first choice).

I'll be taking most Fridays off and maybe a few more days next week. I need to go visit Mom in November. She's having a procedure done, so I'll go stay with her for a week.
