I will tell a true-life tale later, after more raking.

So...

... the 8- or 9-year-old girl from Neighbour East raked up a pile of leaves in Neighbour West's back yard last Saturday. And the pile has sat there ever since... but magically becoming slightly smaller as it "eroded" continually into MY back yard due to winds.

Today, I just took the mower to the pile.

As I was mulching it, Neightbour West (the now 92-year-old woman) poked out her back door and was waving to me. SILLY ME!!!... I thought she was going to tell me her son and/or grandson and/or hired hand was going to take care of it AND the rest of her yard crap. But, no. That pile was for the kid who raked it to JUMP in!!! I said the only "jumping" I was seeing were the leaves jumping OFF the pile and INTO my back yard. If the kids wants leaves for a pile, she can take the 5 bags I've done today - in convenient easily-transportable bags - and make another pile in her DOWNWIND back yard. Too bad. So sad. Life is tough.

(And here is where Atty can get his "bad karma" finger ready to point at me again.)

I also asked - again, perennially - if her son and/or grandson are off hunting in Vermont because I have not seen them doing anything in her yard, front OR back. "Off hunting" is her annual excuse why NOTHING gets done. I then asked - again, perennially - if she gets the local Pennysaver (knowing full well she does) and CASUALLY mentioned all the "Fall Cleanup" ads that appear within its pages.

Birmingham, Al
Bear, at least snow and gale-force winds will keep the trick-or-treaters further away from your halloween barbed wire ;)

Gracie, a friend told me about them, and sent me to ECF. You were lucky (more than 5.5 years for you congrats!!), it took me about 6 weeks to get used to vaping and find the right nic level so that i could let go of the last couple of cigs/day. It took another 6 weeks fro me to stop lurking and actually join ECF.

It's not barbed wire. It's razor wire. It gets the job done much more neatly and - at first - painlessly. Think "leg shaving" nick. Not TOO bad when it happens, but ooooooo! does it pang afterward.
