I don't get colds very often but when I do, this is a remedy I know works because I've used it as well as other members of my family.

Oil of Oregano, when applied under the tongue has strong antibiotic properties. No more than 2 drops; ask me how I know! :lol:
You will smell like a pizza for a bit, but it is so worth it, IMHO.

Large doses of Vit C cannot hurt you, only help, as it is water soluble.

Vit D3 is another very important immune system builder which can fend off infection or shorten its stay! I take 5,000 I.U every day, but if I feel something coming on, I double that to 10,000 I.U. Most folks are deficient in Vit.D3.

Data suggest that the vitamin D you get from sunshine in the summer can be enough to get you through the winter, and has better bioavailability that the pill-form. Unless you slather yourself with too much sunscreen, then you might need to supplement. Supplementing to stave off a cold probably doesn't hurt either.
