I hit my parlay card last night with the Patriots crushing the Colts. 3 weeks in a row.... it's an impressive feat, even for the Pepper. A trip to vegas may be in order.

All I know is that the Lions lost to the Cardinals. So I probably won't pay much more attention to the NFL until the Super Bowl.

I took the Cardinals over the Lions on my parlay card. The Cardinals were giving 1.5 points and won 14-6. I was surprised that the Lions only scored 6 points having the best receiver in football, Calvin Johnson. I wouldn't give up on the Lions, yet. They'll make it to the playoffs. IDK about the Super Bowl.

i don't care about footballl, but the lions are one team I'd like to see make it to the superbowl (i still wouldn't bother to watch the game though) .

The super bowl has become a reason to have a party and watch the commercials. I'm pretty sure the NFL did that just for the ladies.

The current thought is ....it's week 11. So we're way past the "just getting ramped up" stage of excuses for bad offense. This pretty much sums it up:

Lombardi has been saying week after week that he believes Detroit is close to a breakthrough. But we're 11 weeks into the season and well beyond the point where you can chalk this up to a slow start. This is just a bad offense at this point, and it's hard to paint Lombardi as anything but a disappointment.

Lucky for the Lions, they still have a No. 1-rated defense. They've rode that thing to the top of the NFC North, and should be competitive in every game they play because of it.

But Detroit's hopes of winning the division could hinge on whether there is an offense to complement it.

"It's just the way it is. It's difficult, it's tough," Caldwell said. "But the thing about it is, everything we set out to do, in terms of the season, is still in front of us. It's not like we got knocked out of contention or anything of that nature.

"But still, you got to face the brutal, honest facts. You didn't play well. And so we got to get that straightened away."

Yes, a very true statement. It's surprising with Detroit having a decent quarterback in Matthew Stafford and the premier receiver in the league, Calvin Johnson, they can't score more points. Their defense has definitely carried them so far. But they were playing the best team in football, at least by record (9-1), yesterday.

Good point Pepper. That's fair. However, it doesn't solve the offense problem Maybe they'll get it together, IDK. Between that and the kicking-team fiasco, along with my currently not-enough-personal-idle-time-to-devote-to-it situation, I've kinda let my hopes slide on the Lions. I'm sure you know more than me about it. I just get the impression that it won't be much of a year for super bowl hopes.

We'll see.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! As unexpected, the amount of snow we saw was more than predicted. There wasn't really any accumulation on the roads (that I noticed), but it looks like there'll be no leaf blowing-raking-bagging for a while.
