yup, tweety! some safe environment they provide :?: and the RAs, together with campus police, are completely useless when it comes to alcohol

I'll add the chancellor/dean to that list. I wrote an editorial in my school newspaper in response to the condemnation the chancellor had for underage drinking/drinking and problems it had caused on and off campus. He spoke of high and mighty things that would be done. lol In my response, I laughed at him and told him he wasn't going to do anything. Yes, I made fun of him. Can you believe Pepper would do something like that?:D I told him it was all about the $$ and that he wasn't going to do anything to jeopardize that. Yep, I was right.

Good morning y'all

we're in the deep freeze too. 23 degrees with an expected high of 37. blech.

Thanks Katya and Pepper, I'll add in the alcohol arguments. So sorry for your friend's loss Katya. We're a research campus with a large medical school, and a large proportion of the undergrads are commuters, so the proposed ban is less "save the children" then it is "save the adults from themselves" . grrrrr

Good morning snails.

@CES...some ramblings: I was thinking that there's a difference between science and education, and mandates. You can easily argue that all the PSA stuff is important...safe or no alcohol consumption, party-safety awareness, green-stuff is cancerous even if it becomes legal, etc. The messages DO get heard. They are only a % effective, but they have an impact.

Mandating, on the other hand, is the surest way to get people to rebel against it and vape on premises "for the principal of it". Feeding the "rebel nature" by banning something that is elsewhere legal is not wise.

They have no cause. No justification. They'd have to show harm from vaping. They can't..it's harm reduction. Various businesses use fire-insurance excuses for showing harm from smoking...even outside. But they can't do that with e-cigs.
