Well, IMO a lot of it is either the "Modern day network programming methods" or maybe Comcost. Because they buy rights to something and then just keep repeating it as filler forever.
I LIKE Pawn Stars. One or two shows. But what that channel does is fill entire nights with it. Same with science channel. I like occasional "How it's made" episodes...but heck, they fill 50% of their programming with that alone. And they go on "runs" Right now in the History channel it's all about drugs. All night. And it will repeat for a while. Yeah, it's "topical" with all the new green-stuff laws and such. But they just keep repeating it. Forever. The whole night.
I remember real content. Now they just maximize profits and minimize expenses. :/ They purchased major studios and stuff with that money they should have used for content. Grrr.

And don't get me started on "Reality TV"....

the boy watched it for a bit, atty, and i imagine there might be some interesting episodes - but what is it doing on the history channel?

Yea, I think I'll go turn on the TV in the bedroom and watch Bluebloods!
