I didn't read the study itself, and you're right Pepper, the news releases rarely tell the full story (but they did identify that the participants worked their way up to 40 min a day). Me, I'm waiting for enough of a warm up that i'll feel like getting back into 3-4 day/week dog walk/jogs. Enjoy your breakfast.

What is happening to this forum? Why are people so mean to each other? We used to be such a helpful bunch...

It's a little bit of "blame the victim" mentality IMHO. They won't acknowledge that sometimes stuff just happens and that mechs can be dangerous FOR ANYONE.

They'd rather say "user error" than admit that regulated mods are better, with a lower actual incidence of failure. :2c: It's hard to tell because so many mech failures are not reported because they get beat-up about it. See? So it's a self-fulling thing.

I wish mechs weren't used for -other-stuff- then they could just go away. As it is, they are very popular now a days...which concerns me from a "health of the nation" standpoint...as it probably indicates increased drug use for the population. And that's a sad thing. It won't end well for e-cigs. Maybe high-wattage devices will change the mech/mod landscape a bit, but it won't change the drug use much.

However, it's in the drug user's or cloud chaser's best interest to 1) Have mechs for that and 2) make sure no one says anything bad can happen...just blame it all on "user error".

DON'T QUOTE ME ON THIS POST, OK? I'm still thinking about it. ;)

Good morning Atty and Gracie :)

Not all mechs are created equal Atty. I retired my zenesis, since it doesn't have vents and even with a short circuit protector i didn't trust it, and i can't get a decent vape from it with 1.8 ohm coils. OTH, I've used my mini reos for several years (with 1.8-2.0 coils)

IMO, it's not the mechs themselves as much as lack of attention to safety details, combined with super low resistance builds. There's just so little margin for error.

I've always been scared of mech mods. One of the first things I remember reading on this forum was about the Chuck and how it blew up on someone. They were stacking batteries... something I would never consider doing.

in reference to cloud chasing, how do mech's produce more vapor than a regulated mod? with the rda or rba than I'm using, I can't imagine how anyone would want more vapor than I am getting.

very true. and why risk it when there are other options that are just as good or better?

I've said almost that exact same thing before CES (the last part).

Thing is, I always have to remind myself that ANY COIL can short...dead short...near 0 ohms. So SLR or not, it can still be a problem.

Yes, maintenance matters. So does the design. I like the REO design for example, I don't think they can build up pressure like the tube mods. That solves 1/2 the concerns right there.
