refresh my mind - which one do you have? lots of people are modding theirs by adding a dna40 ..................

I got an 18490 zenesis hybrid carto tank. It's essentially a mech tube, with an XL cartotank topper. I also got the cap with a standard 510 connection. I think it's the kind that can be modded (?) or purchased for the dna. But the limited went holes, and the fact that adding short protection makes the distance from the switch to the battery very close (and the end cap won't fit tightly then either) makes it more trouble than it's worth when there's other stuff that is easier (and safer?) to use. I keep it as an emergency the-FDA-has-screwed-us-all back up mod.

Atty,

While I'm certainly not remotely near Pepper's regimen, training on an empty stomach is what I do! It is recommended on the nutrition/exercise site of which I've been a member since 2001. We have some women bodybuilders who testify that it does have its advantages. Others say no! Individual preference in the way one feels during and after lifting. They keep accurate records of fat percentages so they also base their decision on what may be more advantageous.

For myself, I weight lift only, but now use machines for safety reasons and it helps me keep proper form. At my age, I can't afford any more injuries!

I always have a heavy protein after lifting!

While there may be an argument for limited training on an empty stomach (I would only include cardio in that scenario), chris explains why one wouldn't want to do that in the first 1 minute of this video. if you are trying to gain muscle, one would not want to do any training on an empty stomach. There are scenarios where I have broken my cardio and resistance into 2 different workouts during the day. I would start with cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, and come back later in the day for resistance training with food in my body.:)

p.s. this was my workout today and I am pumped. I went into the gym today with a madman's mentality and crushed my muscles. I finished with 15 minutes of cardio on the spinner bikes. It felt so good to completely empty every bit of energy I had. When you do that, you get a natural high from the endorphins releasing in you brain. it's incredible... you should try it.:)

@Pepper: This popped into google news. Since you're talking about exercise and food I though this MAY be interesting, even if not applicable right now for you:

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/01/23/ask-well-the-best-time-of-day-to-exercise/?_r=0

thanks, atty. not applicable, but interesting. I'm trying to gain weight... but good weight: muscle. it's not how much you eat, but what you eat. On training days I eat 30% protein, 50% carbs, & 20% fats. On non-training day (sat & sun) I'll eat 40% protein, 30% carbs, & 30% fat. Carbs are the fuel for your workouts so I have more on training days and less on non-training days. I'm not eating cheap carbs & fats like white bread & fried foods.

As with most of the articles whether diet or ecigs, they don't give you the variables. if you're eating 50% more fat and it's coming from an unhealthy source, the results are predictable. however, if that fat is coming from healthy sources like fatty fish, nuts, etc., it makes all of the difference.:)
