Good morning y'all

Happy 5 years of not smoking Classy!

Happy (early or belated) birthday Tibs!

41 degrees, Fran? that's practically a heat wave.

Enjoy your grandpup, Lost

Waving at soon to be scarce (again), Tweety

Hope you enjoyed your day, Atty and the UFC, Pepper.

Welcome back, Dale!

Glad you found your cleaning person again, Gracie.

I ended up with five quotes, all in the same price range. Two people actually came and looked at the yard. But..one person answered fast, came and looked a the yard within a couple of hours and gave me a quote that was slightly less expensive. Guess who wins ;)

(i hope i didn't miss anyone)

Have fun, Lost :)

Gracie, I may also have found a handyman from lawn quotes. One person is also a contractor (licenced, insured, bonded), and i have some small jobs (and some larger ones) that i'm going to talk with him about. I'll see how he does with small stuff and decide from there. I went with someone else for the lawn bid, since it's not worked well to have my lawn guy do handyman work. I want to keep the handyman stuff separate- that way I won't have to find a new lawn guy if the handyman stuff is iffy (as it often has been) or if he gets to busy on larger jobs and so neglects the small lawn contract.

Wise decision in keeping them separate! Licensed, insured and bonded is something I always look for, so am glad that you found a prospective contractor.

You may want to keep the jobs with him small until you're completely satisfied with his work and his attitude!

G'morning Pepper.........feel better now? :)

Yes, but i would feel even better if you would like my post.:D

Good morning, Pepper :)

morning, chris.:) very wise on your part to have a licensed, bonded, insured contractor. it just killed me when i would bid against someone who wasn't properly and legally covered. they could afford to be less expensive, but the customer took all of the risks.

Licensed, bonded, insured was the first question I asked. He says he does bank-authorized work on repossessed properties. He has posted pictures of completed work and says he has references.

But i agree that i should start with small stuff, since there is just a little bit of a red flag in that he's also taking on lawn service. Though that may just be due to the general state of the economy.

that reminds me though. I need the name of the custom window company that Tibs posted a year or so ago. I lost the information and really do need to have my 100 year old windows/frames replaced. (and, being 100 years old, they are not exactly standard size). will you re-post please, Tibs?
