Kid status:
Pureed tuna got his attention. He licked out all the liquid (getting some tuna in the process),
so I added a few more tablespoons of water, which he lapped up. So... that's good.

If he's still in distress tomorrow morning, he's going back for xrays or a throat probe. His
problem appears to me - a non-vet - to be mouth/throat. MAYBE an absessed tooth? MAYBE
he swallowed some bug (like a bee, or one of these) and it's stuck in there or stung/bit?

Re: the link... those things have become a county-wide problem over the last year. Friends,
my Dad, and we have had them in the house even through the Winter. But I'd think a cat
might be repelled and not actually eat one.

fingers crossed he'll make more progress as the day goes on ......

he is using the litter box, right?

"No" to litter boxes. Nothing to eliminate the last couple of days. But then again, I'm
not watching everything he does... and there's another cat in the house that DOES
use the boxes.

OK Bear,
-- not a vet, but ---
He should at least be .......
If he's not, and hasn't for a couple days...he's dehydrated and/or in kidney failure. Or he's ...... on your rug.
In any event, get him some water now if you think he's dehydrated. Or maybe just get him to a vet.
