Bear, if you spay and release then the kitty can choose. I know you'll keep feeding her and make sure that she's ok in any case. And one could make the argument that though you didn't get her from a shelter that it might not have been long before she needed one.

My friend Nancy will be having surgery on her hand this morning, and whether she will have surgery on her foot will be determined after the foot surgeon reassesses.
In the meantime, antibiotics and a morphine drip will continue.
Her spirits are so -so, and she is dazed and confused; with all the drugs, that's a given.

Yep.

She *NEEDS* to be fixed. Hus and I are almost certain she would not receive that ONE
vital piece of attention/care. The last thing needed is a litter(s) of kittens. Other than
that, food and water are ALWAYS available here, outdoors. But then, there's a road
which would need to be crossed.

Get her spayed no matter what.

"oh, that was your kitty, neighbor person? I thought it was a stray"*

*course when i did that, it turns out the kitties in question were already fixed, so checking in advance saved me a needless trip to the spay and neuter clinic.

You're right about that CES, it is a mess......I'm a little annoyed with her because she waited 2 days before the pain became too excruciating to ignore. She still would have needed surgery, but I don't think she realized the gravity of the situation.

Who expects it to become so bad? A stray cat, yes, but her own kitty? I'd have expected it to get better on it's own too. :(

..and it's that time. Have a good day y'all.

On a lighter note... H'bear comes and wakes me up announcing a visitor on
the deck, cleaning out the dry food bowl. (Which is ALWAYS empty in the
morning.) "Rory Racoon"...

By the time I stumbled out of bed to look (while Oreo and Ty-Grr watched
from their deck chairs), the racoon had left. I am told s/he is "huge".

I was thinking it was the possums from the Winter who were still hanging
around under the deck. They are probably long gone by now, off foraging
in nature. I did snag a pic back in March:
