excessive heat warnings and heat index around 105...
An abandoned house across the street and down from my home burnt down yesterday. No one was injured in the fire, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with heat exhaustion.
Then around 10pm, i get a call from the alarm monitoring company that my alarm had gone off. argh. The police were dispatched and apparently didn't see anything. My neighbor and a friend also checked (my neighbor doesn't have a key and my friend could't find her key), everything appeared ok from the outside, the beastie that barks barked, and the alarm wasn't blaring so i think it was a glitch.
I'll get an update in an hour or so. (The person from the dog sitting company takes muscle relaxers at night so she wasn't going to go out and i think the company would have discouraged her anyway, since they didn't want to her to go into a potentially unsafe situation).
