tweety, the only one i ever encountered was fixed surgically and never came back. but i know with hershey's age anesthesia is a big concern ................

Yup. She's 12 1/2, general anesthesia is out of the question. We have discussed it. We'll just keep draining that fluid and try to keep her chronic ear infections in check and keep her comfortable. :(

She's an old dog...

Aww, Kay, so sorry. Such a beautiful bird. Sometimes, it's just NOT FAIR!!! I hope they can do something else to help him. You're not a downer. That's what we're here for, so you can vent and share with us.

She's a chocolate lab. :)

Thanks, Kat.

So sorry to 'hear' that Katya! My Fido had one once. They aspirated it, maybe ??? gave some steroids or something???, and it went away. Sometimes they're stubborn I guess.

$800 surgery? Wow. Hope they treat the infection. I read that head shaking is a primary cause. Fido hit his ear flap on the coffee table while shaking head. :(

IDK what to say other than 1) I sympathize as it's looks really scary but I guess it isn't that serious or uncommon and 2) I hope it clears up this time. Keep at it!

Fingers crossed and prayers for you and Hershey.

    Hi snails.

    Hi snails.

$800 was for aspirations and cold laser and a couple of steroid injections (6 visits.) Surgery is much, much more than that.

    Thanks, Atty!
