You're up early this morning. Did you get any plant damage?

yup

with temps as low as 17 sunday norning there was no way around it - this morning it's 46 ....................

a day late

the star magnolia is turning brown - mostly.

Well that sucks. I'm not expecting to lose any this year. The only ones in danger are at the rear of the house where the snow melts first. I covered them with straw last fall and most are still under a foot of snow. Tiny bit of ground showing tight to the back of the house.

cover was no option - mine is about the size of this one now - always the first to bloom

Would some light cover help,like netting? Seems you had a loss last Spring also.

i doubt it, frannie - burlap would be needed at least. and it's now about 8ft high and just as wide

In that case it's at the mercy of the weather

I lost my Johnson's Blue Geranium a couple years back. Searched plant places for 2 days to find another plant. Finally found one in Vermont.

strange - i tried that here and no luck! it's better suited for colder climes
