and here i had atty figured as someone who filed way back in february

Grr. Well, the business part was easy this time.

But I had to buy Turbo Tax...so that took a bit.
And then there's...well, I didn't figure I'd get any $$$ back so no need to file.

But I have a situation that I don't understand how to file and there's different answers posted. It should be easy. I have X dollars in misc income (cash/check) that is not on a 1099 misc. It's not part of the business, it's personal income.

I can report it as misc income. And I did. And I think that's cool. Other answers I've found said "use schedule C". But if I do that, I OWE taxes when I shouldn't because it counts it as a small business.

But if I put it under 1099-misc with no form, then I actually get money back.

So the question is if you have misc income that's cash from, say, odd jobs or whatever and there's no 1099 how do you report it PROPERLY?

I think I did it right. Still researching. Sigh. Should be easy, but there's just too many categories and ways to report crap. And if I don't report it, how would I explain the deposits into checking? So I'm honest and report it.
