I contacted provape and this is what they said in regard to upgrading the v.1 to a v.2. Very reasonable.
We do have a v2.0 available for ProVari's with the 1.0 software.
The V2 upgrade provides a little more variable to your ProVari. The first change is that the voltage range is a little wider going from 2.9v to 6.0v. The second change is that the original version of the e-cigarette mod limited amperage to 2.5 amps. After that the protection circuitry would kick in and shut the ProVari down. The new version of the ProVari has upped that limit to 3.5 amps. Previously, the device was unable to run dual coil cartomizers at higher voltages. This is because the low resistance of the dual heating coils caused a fairly high amp load at relatively low voltages. The ProVari V2 should be able to run these dual coils at or above 5 volts.
If the V2 upgrade interests you, we would be more than happy to make arrangements with you! There is a charge of $20 per unit to cover the components and labor to upgrade.

thanks, I'm not that worried about it, but it does make it a little more attractive being able to upgrade to a v.2 for only $20, plus shipping.
I have several nearby and I'm a member. They are a nice company, they pay fair wages, treat their employees well, and still are able to offer very competitive prices to customers. They also have their own store brand, Kirkland, of good quality products ranging from TP to pet food. Their gas prices are good (for members only). Their return policy is also very generous--basically no questions asked and no hassles.
I love my Costco.
DH hates it because he hates all big box stores with huge shopping carts and crowds.
