Dinner:

And YEAH... RIGHT... 3 whole scallops, huh? We would be just SO STUFFED after ALL of that!

1 pound of scallops "serves 4". What's WRONG with them?!

No "haute cuisine" here, that's for sure. Store done... asparagus and herb rolls purchased.

Now out to the deck... hands, knees, knife and vacuum cleaner to clear out all the stuck
maple spinners.

Later!

My little one ( the avatar) smuggles them in the house and hoards them in little piles. She likes to get to the seed, IF I don't catch her, which I usually do. We find them everywhere. Wanna borrow her? Save you knees, Man, save your knees!

I track them in on the bottom of shoes.

When the deck is rebuilt (at some point), I will insist there is plenty of space between the floor
boards so the spinners will just fall through.

I did not take a pic this year, but this is an example (from '11)... and they are not even from
any of MY trees. Ty-Grr under table, T'mato under chair, Gizmo (RIP) in chair in gazebo:

Sorry about your Gizmo:( We have a Gizmo too.

We lost him to skin cancer. I'd post a pic, but they are too gruesome. He probably would have
lived quite a few more months, but he could NOT have been all that comfortable... and in
looking back, we should have done "it" sooner. The best cat I have ever had, and can only HOPE
to have another like him in the future.

    Back out!

Beautiful deck......beautiful cats..(RIP Gizmo,awws..). Mine is screened in, but they still manage to whirl their way onto the deck. Keeps Maddy busy!!! Same here with the trees....should be a law, whoever owns the trees has to clean up the spinners...AND rake the leaves in the fall.

    Good morning, Snails. :)

Scallops !!!!! I could eat a ton of them. In Plymouth, Massachusetts, there is a small restaurant right at the water's edge. The back of the restaurant is on the water and small boats deliver fresh seafood there !!! I ordered a seafood platter, scallops, clams, lobster....all fresh seafood. Delicious !!!!!

    Flyby...
GF's dog is back home. Both back legs bandaged up stiff. She seems to be doing OK...wouldn't eat a small "treat" though. Drank a ton of water, didn't pee (yet). GF has a sling to help her do her stuff. My fingers are all crossed 'n stuff.

Busy day...must mow at least the front yard today, took mom to store, got gas for mower, dealt with helping GF bring dog inside. Tomorrow: sod cutting in the a.m. Sod removal and landscape fabric in the p.m. We can rent the equipment for $85.00 - $115.00 depending on how long we need it. Well worth the back-saving labor. I did another chunk already by hand (maybe 4 x 30 feet) with a well established root system. Yikes. There's a reason we humans bothered to invent power tools. I expect it will make short work of it.
