Update on my friend Nancy: Her hand surgery went well yesterday, but in the last two days her foot has gotten a lot worse!

Seems as though the antibiotics are just not enough so a 2nd surgery is planned!

We're on pins and needles and until the infection is gone, we won't rest easy...

This cat has been in that household for years, and this is the first (and last) time this has happened.
Everyone is puzzled by her behavior, because she literally lunged at Nancy's foot and when Nancy tried to swish her away, that's when the cat got her hand. They're guessing it was an acute seizure!

    Flyby...
GF's dog is back home. Both back legs bandaged up stiff. She seems to be doing OK...wouldn't eat a small "treat" though. Drank a ton of water, didn't pee (yet). GF has a sling to help her do her stuff. My fingers are all crossed 'n stuff.

Busy day...must mow at least the front yard today, took mom to store, got gas for mower, dealt with helping GF bring dog inside. Tomorrow: sod cutting in the a.m. Sod removal and landscape fabric in the p.m. We can rent the equipment for $85.00 - $115.00 depending on how long we need it. Well worth the back-saving labor. I did another chunk already by hand (maybe 4 x 30 feet) with a well established root system. Yikes. There's a reason we humans bothered to invent power tools. I expect it will make short work of it.

Glad baby is back home. She'll eat when she's ready. When was the surgery? I'm glad they did both legs, so she doesn't have to go through 2 surgeries!! Fingers crossed here, too....

Don't work too hard....not good for ya!! Glad you have the power tools!

    Beautiful deck...

The pic shows most of the lower portion. There's a middle elevation which is 8' x 16' off the kitchen, and an
uppermost piece 4' x 8' off the addition. That's why when the entire thing needs staining, it gets hired out.
I did only the floor this year.

... should be a law ... rake the leaves in the fall ...

You'll be in for a treat come October. I provide a blow-by-blow commentary HERE about what goes on out
THERE along with a cumulative bag-count. Sneak Peek: 45-50 39-gallon bags, some so heavily packed they
need to be ROLLED to the curb. If just MY trees, I'd guess the number to be 15-20. Stay tuned!

First of all, I wish I could see the whole deck. It sounds awesome!!! I had some friends, the older one recently passed, who built the most beautiful porch, sunroom, whatever you want to call it. The best place to relax and enjoy good company. They loved to entertain and feed us, which was a bonus. I was just happy to sit in the beauty with an ice cold beer. Jack did the entertaining and cooking....Larry did all the scut work. I just watched...lol

Secondly, 45-50 BIG BAGS of leaves......Unbelieveable......you really MUST "work out" at the Y!!!!

I am envisioning the new back-of-the-house area for when it needs to be done. Wish I had a (free)
program of some sort to begin sketching it out so as to just bypass the whole contractor part of THAT
    process.

And you would THINK - if not a LAW to clean up your own crap - a "good neighhbour policy" would be
sufficient. But you'd be WRONG. Not a finger is lifted "over there"... but I do PLENTY of finger-lifting
    during the cleanup sessions.

(You can be sure I do not "eat at the Y".)

Out to finish... just gazebo floor to go.

There probably IS a free program or form you could use to sketch out what you want.

I agree with the good neighbor policy.....not around here, either, unless you pay them....Love the finger lifting. I do some of that myself. May be my strongest muscle....

I am really sure you don't eat at the Y. And that's all I'll say to that....Classy might be watching.

Atty, at least recovery has started, and hopefully the pooch will get used to it.

A lot of work planned! Even with the power tools, we still have to labor and our backs suffer for it.

Howdy everyone. Of all days to lose my cell phone, I pick the day my mom is having the tracheotomy and I'm waiting to hear from my dad afterwards! I'm pretty sure he doesn't know my work number.
Hope everyone is having a better day than I am.
