No carpeting in the kitchen. That's even a WORSE idea than carpeting a bathroom.

    Good morning, everyone!

Dale, could it be the barometric pressure dropping causing you a headache.....I had one yesterday morning, and I rarely, if ever, get a headache. The rain poured with a vengeance yesterday afternoon, and that sky was ominous.
Haha! A headache was about the only thing I didn't have this morning
Could be what's wrong with my legs tho' :?: All better now anyway ;)

    AMEN!!! Agree 100%!

Been yammering for a few years now about having the bathroom floor done. It's carpeted
(never, EVER do that) and way past due to say adios. I'll commit - here and now - for it to
    be a Fall 2015 project.

    (((D)))

The bathroom is pretty darn small. By the time the area for the tub and vanity is subtracted
out, I can't imagine the cost to be too bad. Of course, "they" will "discover" the sub-flooring
needs ripping out... and the toilet will crack... and the toilet drain is rusted through... and
the bony remains of somebody who was buried under the floorboards... Those things will shoot
    a budget all to hell.

I have the exact same problem, dale. Large bathroom, garden tub never used (would empty the hot water tank by the time I had enough water in it!!) and carpeting around it. So 80s!!!

we're in for a treat! bear's projects usually contain an unexpected complication ;)

Good thing you said "usually". Nothing this time. :) Exterior wall in the immediate
window area appeared sound. Some moisture discoloration, but no wood decay. So,
that leaves the soffits as probable air leak culprit... and an entirely separate repair
project. I'll wait and see what the cold weather and storm winds bring after this window
    replacement.

Check... done. Except for new curtains, hardware and blinds. Not putting the old crap
back up. Will enjoy the unobstructed view for a few days. :)

They came back! ... forgot to put the little finger handles on the window ...

So... I took the opportunity to ask if they (or one or the other) did "remodeling" work
outside of working for the window place. And, yes! So there is my source for the
bathroom floor job! :) ... and just may have them do a wall/ceiling/trim refresh, too.

    That worked well!
