Morning CES. Wow. Bummers. They make pet specific stuff with enzymes and microbes formulated to take care of...excretions. May be worth it if it got into the pad, as no surface cleaning will solve that smell problem.

@ ces - for that kind of accident i've had good luck with white vinegar in the past ;)

I can do that...then use the little steam vac (one more time) to get up the excess. Thanks. Turns out that with the enzymatic cleaners i I'll have to rinse the carpet area to make sure all of the first cleaner is gone anyway, so i might as well try the vinegar first.

Hmm.
Baking soda is supposed to remove odors too (somehow?). I only mention it since it also neutralizes acids ...

I'm sensing a trend this morning.

only because I'm still tired, cranky, and disappointed in the expensive, professional service that was less than i'd hoped. The dogs are ok, so that's the main thing. But, i have to figure out something better for the next long trip.

Atty, I plan to use baking soda too, but not until everything is dry, it cakes and clumps and is almost impossible to get off the carpet otherwise.

btw weren't you gone 3 weeks? but 35 lbs is still a lot ..............
