just got spark's report but still no copies of his and oscar's blood work - all in all though a decent report

and as with all our prior visits i'm pleased with the attention to details!
HISTORY:
Sparky is a 22 year old, male, Blue Fronted Amazon who presented to the NCSU Exotic Animal Medicine Service on 9/30/2015 for reevaluation of his previously diagnosed xanthomas. Today the tumors appear have increased in size since his last visit and have gotten particularly large in the last month. However, they do not seem to interfere with his daily activity. He also has a history of hypercholesterolemia and obesity. He has not had any other health issues since his last visit. His diet consists of low-fat pellets, fruit, vegetables, and other protein sources including egg whites or broiled fish.

ATTITUDE: Bright, active, responsive
EENT: Both eyes clear, both ears clean and clear, no nasal discharge, no tracheal sensitivity, crop empty, symmetrical beak growth but rhamphotheca is long and has extra keratin layers, cere normal
ORAL: Sharp papillae bordering choana, no oral plaques noted
INTEG: Good feather condition with a few broken tail feathers and stress bars on tail feathers, no feather loss, multiple
xanthomas (see description below), no parasites noted, wing plumage full and unclipped, areas of thin skin on plantar surface of digits 1 and 4 of both feet, all nails overgrown with digit 1 on the left foot and digit 2 on the right foot excessively long and beginning to curl under
CARDIOVASC: No murmurs or arrhythmias noted
RESP: Clear and eupneic, no abnormal respiratory sounds, pocket of SQ emphysema (possibly an extension of an air sac) noted
particularly over left cranial keel but extending around ventral neck (nonpainful)
COELOMIC: Soft and compliant, difficult to fully palpate beneath xanthomas
UROGENITAL: Vent clean/dry, not affected by xanthomas, no discharge, cloacal mucosa smooth
MUSC SKEL: No lameness, decreased range of motion in left wing (cubital joint) with mild thickening of patagium, no muscle wasting, muscle mass index 3/3, SQ fat deposits still present over the neck and ventral abdomen (still mildly overweight)
NEURO: Mentation normal, cranial nerves intact, no ataxia, normal proprioception
XANTHOMA MEASUREMENTS:
Right of vent: ~1 cm craniolateral to the vent are 3 converging masses- closest is approximately 2x2cm, directly lateral is ~2cm long x
1cm wide, slightly caudolateral is ~2cm long x 1cm wide mass
Caudal to vent: 2 converging masses- one directly caudal is ~1/2 cm from vent ~1x1 cm, directly lateral and extending craniolateral to the right of the vent is a mass ~3cm x 2.5 cm
Medial to left leg ~3cm long x 1 cm wide mass
DIAGNOSTICS:
1. Chemistry panel: Cholesterol is slightly elevated at 368 mg/dl (previously 420 mg/dl in March 2014). All other values WNL.
2. Fecal gram stain: Gram positive rods and cocci with some yeast. The yeast are abnormal in the feces but may not represent a
problem at this time. We will recheck this at his next visit.
FOLLOW-UP PLAN:
We will contact you with the final consultation with radiation oncology and make plans from there. Otherwise, Sparky looks like he is in stable health and you should plan to bring him back for a routine health assessment in one year, or as needed for changes or concerns with his xanthomas. He did have some abnormal yeast on his fecal Gram stain today, which might be due to dietary ingredients or could represent a true overgrowth in his GI tract. If you notice any changes to his feces (consistency, color, etc.) or if you notice any other problems, please let us know.
