Hey, Bear, similar for me, too. Went through several years of major sciatica. Tossed around surgery....tried PT, injections. Nothing worked, but was still leery of surgery, because what is causing mine comes back anyway after surgery. For some reason, the pain just stopped about 7 months ago. Not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, but SOOOOOOOOOO glad I opted to not have surgery!!! HurraH for US!!!

I had the first attack on Good Friday 2005, then again in October. I don't know what
other people experience with sciatica... I suppose there are varying degrees. The one
in October instantly put me on the garage floor. All I did was turn a doorknob and down
2 steps I went to the cement. Next I knew, ambulance, hospital, IV and MRI.

Back surgery should be anybody's LAST resort.

Yup. I had an ongoing problem after a car accident. On and off for years. Then it went away. YMMV
