A Good "Tasteful Tuesday" to all!
I notice there is no insulation, so throwing out that idea. I'll probably just go
with the 18-gallon tote nested inside a 35-gallon tote, insulated all around,
with an access port. Like:

I can do that myself.
That's a good idea, too. But the ad you posted did say the upper part is insulated.
(ETA, oreo has made it through a winter or two already, yes?)

IDK Bear, you MIGHT be better off getting him inside...or heating it somehow. -20 degrees and he's not going to make it in there, insulated or not. I'm worried that it will give him a false sense of security and he'll take to it, but it's safe lower temp limit is too high for your area. Then again, maybe it works even at -20 as cats have enough metabolism. IDK. I don't think they're den animals so....IDK how that works.
That's me being a worry-wart, not me poo-pooing your good intent.
less...
around for thought. The easiest path is the safest too...get him inside and acclimated to it. Then he'll come inside when it's cold.atty, when it comes to oreo moving inside bear has tried ................ and tried![]()
Same manufacturer... pad PLUS small house. Doable and easy. Remember, the shelter
(whatever I choose) will be under cover of the deck, plus under house overhangs. I know
snow does NOT get to the planned spot. I'd cover it with a contractors' bag as additional
protection.
