Wonder why he didn't just get out and walk into the ER like most people would

He was way nutszo on powder-stuff near OD and/or nuts in general. Which is why they messed up. They dealt with him like he was sane and he was really wacko. So "forcing him into submission" wasn't going to work. Too much shock, also his heart was probably ready to explode from the powder.

So they decided to take him downtown to arrest him, for some stupid reason. They knew he had drugs in his system, that's why they took him to the ER. So it doesn't make much sense. They could have restrained him on a gurney. The hospital staff could have stabilize him (probably). There were 4 of em...

BAD TRAINING. I blame the process/procedure more than anything. I don't think they intended for him to die, it's just ignorance on their part. Basically, lack of training, head busting mentality.

However, it's still true that pretty much 100% of these deaths (not talking the other stuff like excessive force) have been for people fighting the cops.
