SilverBear's Gas and Electric Monthly Post [tm]:

Brief analysis: "doing well".

This past month:
-24.0% less electricity compared to 10-year same-month average
-23.9% less natural gas compared to 10-year same-month average

Previous bill:
-17.6% $$$ compared to 10-year same-month average (w/ -33.1% electricity, +6.4% gas)

(Electricity number may change if they come to do an "actual read" in a few days. Which brings up a rant... but I'll save it for "only if asked".)

That's quite a bit. Did you get all new appliances? I can see cooler summers giving lower AC bills....(ele)

The point is that it wasn't the "option competition" that she misread it as.
It was a "beheading is valid"...win.

Morning Bear.

don't think bear ever questioned that except it wasn't a viable solution for him. which brings us back to the original conundrum
should bear force himself to do what's probably the better option for the fish or remain in the status quo?

Had I been thinking way back in 1993 (when I started keeping monthly history), I would have
made note of their "average temperature" numbers. I am sure there is a correlation.

We did have a 96%-efficient HVAC system installed 2005... but that's now completely in
the mix of data (10 years).

Along the line: new HE washer and new dryer (with "intelligent" sensors to shorten dryer
on-time) in 2011, new fridge and new "intelligent" dishwasher 2014.

All but 1 light bulb now CFs (during time period).

Hus has put switches inline to eliminate electronics' stand-by power use (ongoing task).
Yes, it means having to turn TWO switches on in order to watch TV (for instance),
which I do not like.

I think if you could oxygenate some water, and maybe get the strongest vodka and mix 50/50, and soak the fish, he's pass out drunk and die.

Guessing. Cheap way to anesthetize him?

I'm not a fish, so IDK what happens with alcohol? Would it cause other issues like dehydration and pain? I'd bet he'd pass out drunk from the booze before feeling too much of anything. Then .....well....

He just knows what he has to do

aren't we all forced by social conventions to do what is deemed right? and where's the difference as long as there is the desired result?

as you can see, kat - i am not a believer in an inherently good humankind ;)

I think it speaks to intent. To "mindset".

But to be fair to him, how can we really know his current mindset? Maybe he HAS realized how wrong it was and was just caught up in the illegal-gambling-addiction-thing. Maybe he rationalized it all away, and now realizes how wrong it was?

I'm wary of that optimistic view in this case, but it's not impossible.

    ????
Read some of the "history of mankind".
I HOPE we're getting better. But.....

I guess I am referring to "general population"... you know, your hypothetical "next-door neighbours",
celebrities. Maybe it's a function of media and the 'net that we now know about EVERYBODY'S
dirty laundry. But I don't recall - during childhood - needing to be wary of ALL strangers and
ill-intent. (I *think* you know what I mean.)

And that has been a change during our lifetimes. We've actually witnessed that change.
