Knock it off Bear. I also said "Or call someone. Or find a repellent." So take your pick.
If you don't want to shoot it fine by me.

However, you're going to have to address this. Befriending it is NOT a very good idea if it's up on the deck all the time eating that food you put out and walking into the house.

And if you wait much longer, and then "shoo" it away, it won't have a chance to make a new den for winter. Which is a lot less humane way for it to die than shooting it.

Your other option is to not put food out and not leave the door open, I suppose. But I assume you want to feed Oreo.

People usually list options in order of preference.

-----

I just looked at repellents (chemical and electronic) and they all repel cats as well.

This isn't the first time critters have set up housekeeping under the deck. And we've
had zero disasters.

I have been removing overnight food for about 4 days now. The thing is, it is now still
dark at 06h15... the time I usually get up and do morning rituals which include giving
Oreo wet food indoors. The critter was probably hungry - no overnight food - still dark -
and just followed Oreo toward noms. This could have been just a one-off thing (in-house
visit). One data point. Cannot detect a trend yet.

sure the smell is bad but it is rarely activated ;)

Do you think it would be activated if a trap door slammed behind it?

If not, what about approaching it while it is IN the trap?... or transporting it in YOUR CAR
to another location?

(What about a camera flash?... going to keep it handy on kitchen table in case it
happens again... you know: "pics or it didn't happen".)

As for the new Keurig, I have some Freedom Clips I get with San Francisco Bay Organics but apparently you can't get those for free anymore :(
    You can buy one http://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Cleve...35605&sr=8-2&keywords=freedom+clip+keurig+2.0
