He showed ALMOST zero interest this morning in food, but he did take 3 or 4 licks of
wet food. *I* am still unhappy about progress. Still no tuna. Still no whipped cream.

    Syringe feeding.

Needle hydration (and I made him bleed this last time :( ).

Vet gave referral to a different vet who does ultrasound. So, have a call in there
and will discuss when he calls back.

Landline out of service for the 4th time this year. Repair guy JUST said the problem
is in-house. I call bull:censored: on that. He was terse, irritated and just did not want
to be here. So, I'll be porting my number to the flip phone. Maybe hubs will get me a
"smart" TracPhone for Christmas.. for PHONE USE ONLY.

    :: sigh ::

Awww, Bear, I'm so sorry. You must be in agony with this. Still hoping he will perk up. At least he took a few licks. I'm just sorry you have to do all this to try to keep him hydrated and fed. More ((((HUGS))))...

    Thank you.

Right now, I am feeling like this is life support RATHER THAN just getting him over
the hump. Hus and I are against prolonging (us OR pets), so this just is not sitting
    well. Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense, Bear. Just really hard.

how old is the boy now, bear? he has not had an easy life during his pre-bear days
Turned 10 in August. That's assuming the shelter's original age estimate was
    correct.

    Abusive life pre-us.

I just want to know if this is a "simple" illness... or something chronic... or if
it's a terminal thing. I cannot make any decision until one of those has been
    diagnosed.

as ces said you might have to give the antibiotics another day or two to really kick in - you saw a slight improvement today. why not hold off with the ultrasound till friday?

    ... because I'm feeling a bit panicky.

i understand - call the vet with the ultrasound capabilities and set up an appointment for friday. by tomorrow afternoon you will/should know if the antibiotics are working. if yes, you can cancel; if no, you keep the appointment.

Good morning Dale and Mad and OBG

Panicky is understandable Bear, but don't let it drive you. I'm sure you're giving T'mato all the gentle attention he can tolerate too.

Been working at home while waiting for my annual furnace check. All ok and time for working at work.
