No no no... not a "typical" story. But maybe somebody who reads this knows something.
The internet does not, my
shop does not, Chrysler dealership does not.
February 2014: Had all 4 valve stems AND tire pressure sensors replaced because stock
parts were aluminum and had corroded. (The stems and sensors are ONE piece.)
April 2014: Had snows removed, all-seasons put on. Shortly thereafter, the system started
reporting a bad sensor. (*) NOT "low pressure"... a sensor malfunction. Took back and
they reset the system. (The system on my car does not distinguish between the 4 tires,
they all feed into one alert light.)
Summer-ish 2014: The system started reporting a bad sensor again. (*) Again had them
reset the system. (**)
November 2014: Had snows put on. Shortly afterward, the system started reporting a bad
sensor again. (*) Ignored it.
April 2015: Snows off, all-seasons put on. Sensors reset. Shortly thereafter, the system
started reporting a bad sensor. (*) Ignored it.
Two weeks ago: Had snows put on. They reset the system.
YESTERDAY, the system started
reporting a bad sensor again. (*)
(*) -
ALL FIVE TIMES, each and every one, happened within the
same half-mile radius on
the way to my Dad's apartment. Is it possible that someONE or someTHING or some PLACE
is sending out a signal of some sort that is causing this notable coincidence???
(**) - Telling the above (after only the second time) to my
shop and the dealership resulted in
them looking at me as if I was green, had 3 heads, and spoke some interplanetary language.
Note: Once a bad sensor is reported, the alert STAYS on. It does not reset on its own.
