My mom is still in good shape, but at almost 79, she's finally thinking of retiring and selling her house in phoenix. I have a visit from a possible contractor to get estimates on an addition to my house so that she can come live with me but still have her own space

Wish we could do that for dad ... did offer to let him come here but he doesn't want to.
i think it's the space of her own that makes it possible. that and that many of her friends in phoenix are moving, so she has less of a support system. It'll be a year or more before it happens (if it ever does)

Upon investigation we have close to 3 inches of very heavy water soaked and crusted snow out in the yard. Hubs was going to clean it up but we have a freezing rain advisory for tonight now so he's going to wait til tomorrow.
Yep, looks like you folks are in the throes of a not so nice winter!
no danger of that here at the house, atty! flood warnings are up though
my main complaint with rain - hot spot has to stay inside and i suffer
