...let us know how your dad is doing, please!

Back a while ago. Not really caring for his (to me) confusion and forgetfulness.
But found he plays "Price Is Right" showcases pretty well. Sigh.

Cleared off his car, started it and took it for a quick spin around the complex.
Shoveled all around it (he does not move it after the plows come by... as they
ask... so the second plow trip can get what's left over). I keep wondering if
he'll ever drive again. Took his check over for rent. Picked up a few groceries.

Picked up a prescription for him and asked if there is any way to get all/most
of them "due" at the same time. Some are 30-day, some are 90-day, and the
pharmacist started talking about part-filling some to accomplish the task. It's
probably time to switch him to super-ultra-mega-mart-palooza-fest (Tibs:
Wegmans) and get on mail service refills. Should have been done years ago,
anyway.

Forgot to mention... had lunch with 1st-long-term-partner's sisters last Thursday.
I'm still amazed at how LITTLE there was to talk about after well over 20 years.
Really, we have all moved on with life and I struggled with bringing things up of
general interest. If anything, I was able to pass along pre-me family photos, the
cemetery plot "deed", and get to try Golden Corral. It's only about 1.5 miles away
and has been there for 2 years, but hus and I don't think buffets are a great deal
any more... not like in the distant past where we were SURE of them taking a $
loss on us. Which explains why we rarely even go to restaurants.

Forecast down to 6"-12" for tonight/tomorrow. I hesitantly accepted an
appointment for Wednesday... "Dad Wednesday"... at 14h00. No snow, high
above freezing... so roads SHOULD be good. I just want to get it the freak over
with. Told Dad we'll have pizza and wings for dinner.

Unfolded hus' electric snowthrower, coiled extension CAREFULLY, so he should
be all set for tomorrow. Now to do "my" 12hp gas beast.

Need to snag a pic of Oreo and his/her girlfriend/boyfriend at some point for
you all. (STILL not SURE if Oreo is guy or gal, FYI.) They generally stick pretty
close together and get along like siblings. I know s/he did not use the shelter
the past few nights of sub-zero temps... I'm thinking they both found some place
to share body heat... maybe even with "Mama-Feral" from next door.

Rambled too long.

You did NOT ramble on too long. We wanted to know how things were. Sorry about your dad, but it sounds like he's doing okay. I know you want more than that, but it may or may not happen. Enjoy what you can, Sweet Bear. My parents are long gone and I still miss them. And good luck with the snow tomorrow. Will be curious to see how much you get!!!!! Love ya, HoneyBear!!!!! (((HUGS)))
