Tibs, happy you and Geoff are safe. Sucks about the tree. I hate to see trees taken down like that. And I hope no more storms are coming!!

Also, Tibs, that weather you had looked terrible. IDK how far you are from wherever the huge damage was, but I'm glad you and DH and the zoo are OK. 
I've had the power blip off and back on one time so far. So if you don't hear from me, it's due to power. I'm not planning on leaving.
It was that silly stick that holds up the hood; it became loose and rattled like crazy. 
Why oh why didn't I just look under my hood?
OK, I'm back home, an hour and and half of my time wasted.
BTW, I really don't like my iPad for ECF visits. So annoying.

not sure how much damage we had locally but there were a few tornados spotted pretty close by. wind is picking up again - i'll have to walk the fence line tomorrow to see what else is going on.
and .......... i have had enough excitement for one day - i'll be retreating to my bath tub as soon as daisy returns from her soon to occur 8pm walk

Pretty much. First, you have to walk to a bus stop--that's 20 minutes right there.
I grew up on the other side of the pond, in big cities, and then lived in Manhattan before I came to LA. I used to walk or take subways and buses wherever I lived. Lack of public transportation in CA was the biggest cultural shock of my entire life. Took me years to get used to it.
