Sure hope you get the puter stuff squared away, Frannie!!

Just finished watching the last Breaking Bad for the second time. It was just as good, if not BETTER, than the first time because I caught a few more things. What a ride. Best show EVER.

Found out this evening that our neighbor's dog, who we adore, had to be put down tonight. She had stomach cancer and was only 7. Loss triggers loss. It's like we just lost Puggers...:(
I so miss her. She ruled this house and now we are lost without her. Piper is really slowing down, so we go day to day with her. She still has that spark in her eyes, but her poor legs are getting weaker and weaker. Such a sweet baby through it all, too. And Maddy is just a little jewel. Such love and silliness. So grateful for her.

Goodnight, Snails.....sleep well, pleasant dreams and a better tomorrow!!! :)

I just shut my computer off. I unplugged the UPS. It beeped and my monitor went out. Router stayed on.

and monitor is definitely on the battery side, right? run an experiment, frannie - switch the monitor and router plugs and see what stays on. maybe the ups has some bad ports? :?:

atty's plan to test one by one is the best way to proceed.

I would test the UPS outlets with the light then make sure the stuff you need to stay on is plugged into a power strip that's plugged into the outlet that worked with the light when the UPS switched, then plug the lamp into the outlet that's not on the UPS that way if the lamp is on when the power goes out you'll know it's time to shut things down because the lamp will go out when it switches to battery. That's assuming the lamp were on when the power goes off in the first place :2c:

You'll figure it out Fran. I guess you'll have to follow the cords.
Does the router normally stay on during power blips?
The router has no electrical plug. It plugs into the puter and the phone line

I'm just posting this for communication purposes. It's so hard to tell when I can't see what's going on.
It SHOULD be working for you Fran. :(

This is what I see in my mind's eye (except router has no plug):

So that's what you think you have going on right now. Tomorrow is a new day.
Good night Fran, OBG, snails that have left and yet to come.
    Sleep well all. :)
