@CES...Quicktime always been somewhat of a security risk...in that they have to continually patch newly found vulnerabilities and that often lags behind the hackers. Same with other stuff.

That said, if you don't absolutely need it, uninstall it. Here's an article about the issues and inside it has a link to Apple's page describing the uninstall process.

Most people can uninstall it without worry...it just depends on what software you use.
