Me too, not only is it depressing over thinking it isn't going to change a thing.Personally I think it's time to bring back tar and featherings.:)

As I understand it- the first impacts will be as early as December, when inventories are due at the FDA.

Assuming no changes to the predicate date, my guess is that the worst of it won't be for up to 3 years...... the first small businesses will bail in December, some will hold out until the PMTAs are due, and others will keep going until the FDA sends a cease and desist, and the final few will duck under the radar and go grey market. (I'm not counting the companies that have enough money to contemplate applying).

    Morning Gracie.

OBG: Yeah, but I'm trying to understand the impact timing. Information = power/decisions.

yep. not changes to the ability to order. Just no new products can be officially released after august. Everything on the market at that point gets to stay for up to 3 years. whether anything remains on the open market after that is up for grabs.

I thought the pic ID thing would put a lot of vendors out of business starting August. IDK.

Shipping is where the problem will be they can't hide the stuff from USPS's xray machines :2c:

    Good morning OBG and snails.

CES, if you get it figure out, and can summarize/predict outcomes, let us know. Tweety bailed on us already. ;)

I thought the pic ID thing would put a lot of vendors out of business starting August. IDK.

I'd forgotten about the ID stuff, but all it does is shift my prediction towards more companies bailing earlier. if you already have a prediction, why are you asking? I gave you my guess. I may very likely be wrong. But we're all operating from the same lack of information....

true. I'm hoping that won't matter much until the 3 years are up, and lots of stuff gets shipped that shouldn't. grey market - ya pays your money and you take your chances. Stuff made it into the country when the FDA was trying to interdict vaping supplies as drug-delivery devices.

this is why my head hurts from all this...all we can do is interpolate from very vague, circular regulations that aren't designed based on real data and that don't take anything about us into account.

If you're worried stock up. I do think prices will go up sooner rather than later.

NOW i'm really going to go walk the beasties. they've been very patient.

I'm asking, since I specifically said "IDK". Also because I keep hearing all sorts of different dates. And, also, you mentioned reading it and catching up.

Forget it. I didn't mean anything by it. Just talking. :)

... Just no new products can be officially released after august. ...

I've wanted to say this for a few weeks... here and/or in other Deeming-type
threads. Held back for some reason, but, why not?!

    "No new products".

Is the vaping market in any REAL need of new products? There are probably
THOUSANDS of flavours out there. In all forms of nic strength. In all forms
of PG/VG ratio. What are we currently lacking?

Tanks are out there by the hundreds.

Atomizers are NOW a dizzying array. RBA, RTA, RDA... stock replaceable, all
resistances (except "zero"). If you cannot find what you need now, then you're
    probably not looking hard enough.

And mods... internal battery, external, mechanicals, box, cigalikes, EGOs and
    all its cousins. Large, small.

So, maybe I'm missing something (EXCEPT "stifling innovation") but is the prospect
of "no new products" a showstopper? A REAL concern?

("World minus US") manufacturers- and let's face it, that's 95% of them at the least -
will continue to innovate and advance. And I dare say we'll continue to have access
to them in one fashion or another.

That said, The PMTA thing on current products and what Deeming could mean as
far as nic availability and having other vape-related stuff regulated should be the
    real concern.
