Grrr.

Best buy now charges $25 to recycle CRT televisions (as of 01jan16). Previously
free. That is an INFINITE rate hike. Guess I'll need to run it over to the county-
run place and spend $10. OR... "take advantage" of my Dad's apartment complex's
dumpsters. :D But I think they have camera surveillance.

It's 52 here already and could even hit 60 today! (revised from 56)

The next 2 days will melt all the snow. Sloppy wet stuff everywhere. Then 2 days of rain, a pause and then another 2 days of rain. So flooding on the way, but BYE BYE snow!

bear - your neighbor's relatives must have the same cut-it-down genes as dh over here!
that would be his preferred landscaping scheme if ever i would dare turn my back for a moment :(

There's a difference between giving things a "really good haircut" and wanton
devastation. There was absolute zero thought put into the process except
hack-it-all-down. Much of it will just grow back (except trees and tree-like
things) because nothing was pulled out by the roots.

So, I remain "dunno" about what's happening.

Doing more cleaning/tossing out.

I bought a couple of LARGE Tupperware-ish containers because I want to get all of my
photographs and 8mm films and slides and stereo slides together in one place. I know
where everything is, now just need to pull it all together.

The stereo slides are kind of neat, but slow to view... one at a time. I counted 18 boxes
with probably 30-36 in each box. I know I no longer have the camera:

Which took 35mm slide film to make the stereo slides:

Which then have to be put into a viewer:

Maybe NEXT Winter... during a major storm... I'll sit down and actually look through them
all. My scanner can do slides, but the results would only be 2D. I may try the scanning
anyway, during aforementioned storm.

In this household, too! He gets a cleaning bug and decides that the perennials need a whacking along with every other green thing that is popped out of the soil. Then, mama gets out there and sees that the roots weren't disturbed, and I protect them with all the gusto I can. Oh, I could go on and on!

When I get to the actual Big Box O' Photographs, there will be hundreds of 3D PHOTOS
which were taken with a Nimslo camera:
3D-Cameras-Nimslo-2011.018.4401.jpg

Those hand-held photos can be passed around a room. The four separate images are
printed in layers... each slightly offset... and then topped with a lenticular layer,
the results being an illusion of 3D. The camera is long-gone because the only place that
did the printing no longer exists. They can't be scanned (I tried) because the results are
totally blurred. Still a neat-o kind of thing to have.

(Some card shops will have cards with these type of prints, often of an aquarium/fish,
or some other view, where the subject "pop"s out at you.)

My State police Marine patrol grand-daughter didn't like her job cause it puts her out of work all winter so she's been trying to get into a local PD ever since Fall. She finally got excepted by not one but 2 police departments. She will work both at part time til one gives her a full time position.
