Got my UPS today. Wasn't expecting it to be so huge and heavy. Got rainy,windy weather coming in for Weds,Thurs and Fri it looks like so I'm going try to get it situated tomorrow. I think there's room enough on the bottom ledge(shelf) of my computer station

Yeah, most use lead-acid batteries or some such heave stuff.
You know how heavy car batteries are...

Glad you got it, though. The floor can hold it, and your computer will thank you. It will have nice clean stabilized power.
Those condition the incoming power too, so it's all nice and stable and "clean" with no dips or spikes even if you can't see them happening.
