You could try hibernate mode when you shut down. That's a full power-off, but it saves the computer state to the hard drive so you can pick up where you left off when you power back on again.

Sleep mode is different...it's a power-saving mode that keeps ram memory active and gets "reset" when the power fails. So you'd want hibernate mode not sleep mode.

You have to enable it.

Probably can't help her much....she won't be online during most of the upgrade.

But it's pretty much automated by M.Soft. Just a looong wait while it "runs" (crawls). It takes time. Then, there's the inevitable stuff post-upgrade.

I make no promises.......

Bet you 75% chance that many/most "issues" get fixed. But who knows. Depends on the ISSUES.
You'll get the latest drivers and stuff. People aren't updating win 7 anymore.

BUT....now that you know what win10 is like because of your laptop, you know what your desktop will be like.

• Make sure you have a good backup of your data, particularly your business data, but other stuff too. Maybe have TWO backups.
• Make sure your software will run on win 10 if you use any special software.
• Make sure you have enough drive space (the installer will check).
• Cross your fingers, pray to applicable deities, jump up and down 3 times and turn in a circle, and then go for it.
