I made one similar to that (and I mean ONE literally, like I never did it again) a long time ago. I think it was a Dobos Torte...must have been 15 - 20 years ago.
All I remember was that it was a bit dry, and a LOT of work. I don't even bake much, because besides bread and pizza and stuff, it's not my preference to do cakes and that type of thing. I cook, and use the oven for that, but not for "baking" as in cakes. But I did that one once, because if I was going to do one, it would be a "special one" with lots of layers and stuffis...just for the experience you understand. That furthered my resolve to stay away from "baking" stuff like that.
Bread though, is an exception, like I said.
So I'll take Dale's version any day of the week.
