    Looking brighter.

WTFrack though....why can't they just knock you out and biopsy it? PET scans now, but 72 hour wait? WTFrack?

    Still wishing you well. :)

Don't know if it's the law of the land, but, for some strange reason, you must not be in the hospital for 72 hours before a PET scan. No clue why. NONE! Also, they don't want to biopsy something they are totally unsure of. It's in an odd place, so the biopsy wouldn't be simple. PET scan will give them a bit of a better idea on what the next steps should be. :)

But I had to call 911 because the 311 number is for ROCHESTER
city limits only. Neither my Dad OR I live in city limits. I kept
getting a busy signal, so opted for 911.
    Forgot to follow-up here...

The responding officer called (via his cell) to say Dad is OK and watching
TV and not knowing his phone is out of service. No dial tone, dead line.
He checked the connections on Dad's 2 phones.

I call the telephone company to report it. It will be repaired BY MARCH 28.
I emphasized my Dad is 87 and relies on his phone in case of emergency.
All I got was an apology due to last week's wind storm and this past snow
    storm.

It never dawned on me: he also has a pacemaker monitor that requires
    landine service.

I'm calling back at 8. Any "apology" will result in a request to speak with
somebody higher up the food chain. I may have to threaten lawsuit if
    anything drastic happens.

oth - will an older phone model work? mine does - that's why i keep the landline (for power outages and such)
in 30 yrs i've not lost the dial tone more than twice but had to resort to an old-style phone to get it
I used to do that too.
But the line got crappy/static and they never made it right, even after installing a new line. So I ended up switching to cable-provider-phone line rather than phone-company-phone-line. Been WAAAAAY better, even if out a tad bit more, it's clear as hell when it works (which is 99.9% of the time). Have dumb cell phone for backup.

Bear...they may prioritize him. But phone service is not a "right"...it's a service and not guaranteed to to be there. He should have some form of cell backup. Or take him somewhere if you need to.

    Good morning snails. :)
