)What you have is a [relatively] FAT PIPE to your local (inside the house) WIFI of 75 Mb/s but OUTSIDE to the NET you have a THIN PIPE of 2.5 Mb/s. So your TV talking to your smart-phone, all locally inside, would be fast (75) but you talking to some internet server on the web would be "slow" (2.5). That's called a "bottleneck". The slowest link in the chain.
So it doesn't matter video wise that your get 75 Mb/s locally since the data only comes into the house at 2.5.
ahem - the smart phone download test does not represent wifi but the actual connection speed. or did you really put your phone in wifi mode to run the test, bear?

in-house router... and it say 75mb/s. I'm ASSuming that means the phone
is getting 75 out of the router. Yet only getting 2.5 via internet cable.
Let me try the speed test ON the phone and see what pops up. (I'll have
to figure out how to do a screenshot first.)

Factoid: that's where the term ROUTER comes from, it's routing information between the two networks.
Your local stuff stays local, the internet stuff stays away from you EXCEPT for what you ask for, or who asks for you (and there's firewalls and filtering and stuffis).

However... Apps > Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > (router name) says
"Signal Strength: Very Strong (74mb/s).
Must be my "fat pipe".

The WIFI network's capability. If you plug in directly via a wire (ethernet), you'd get either max 100 Mb/s or max 1000 Mb/s (probably 1000 max). That's still on the LOCAL (house) network.
