You're right. It was a good episode. Probably it for the season. Should provide fodder for next season.
They introduced some new characters too (Amy's mother and father, Sheldon's brother) and brought back some of the other characters we don't see often...Sheldon's sister, his mother.
They had some cool other guest stars too. (Mark Hamill from Star Wars fame, Wil Wheaton from Star Trek is kind of a regular-ish)
EDIT: Amy's dad is play by Teller from Penn and Teller fame, her mom is played by Kathy Bates!

I used to watch it when it first came out ... watched tonight too
It was OK.
I figured it wouldn't last long when it first came out due to them running out of geek jokes and it all getting stale.
I was 1/2 right. But they've mostly kept it going "OK". That was the end of season 11. Wow. 11 years....of geek jokes.
But it's changed a lot over the years.
That was a lot of star power in that show.
