The ac is for the bedroom and we haven't used it in years. Cools down enough at night for open windows and fan. I couldn't use it in any other room if I wanted to. Windows aren't right. I do close all windows and curtains where I can during the day.

Frannie, no wonder you can't stand it this hot. Without A/C, it's gotta be beyond miserable!

Very likely won't work, unless they've been running it a little every now and then. Those things freeze up pretty easily.
