Tried to make it to the bathroom again with bad results. Got him back into bed with aid from the walker.

frannie, hubs might have to give up trying to make it to the bathroom. while there'll be still a mess to clean keeping him in bed will keep the mess contained. a potty chair might do the trick but what worked best here for dh was wipes, bed pads and diapers. till i had to admit i just could not do it anymore

Yes, it is getting worse quickly, Frannie. You are gonna need all the help you can get. I agree with Tibs, and hospice is available 24/7. They have ways of getting there, believe me. I have utilized them twice for my family and I called when I needed something and it was there same day, bad weather or not. And it may be too hard for you to try and get hubs on and off bedside toilet, as Tibs said. And the diapers can be a Godsend, as well as the wipes. Please don't hesitate to call, regardless of the weather. Don't run yourself into the ground, because then you won't be good for anyone, including yourself....

And if hubs is not wanting to use diapers (dignity and pride), bed pads are excellent. Again, like Tibs said. And hospice will provide them too, I believe. Okay, I'll shut up now. I just feel so bad for you both.....it's just NOT fair!

I did call the hospice nurse. She called once from home and I saved the number...LOL. She or someone else will be over today. Really don't think her VW is made for ice.

Hospice nurse called and won't be right out due to glassy roads but she will be out. She also said we'll be getting a bed so I have to do something with the LR.

I want to get rid of the chair I hate anyway. I have a friend coming to take it out this afternoon.Baby girl will be here tomorrow also

I've only been there once so far. We have a new mop though, and a clean bathroom floor...and are getting a new bathroom floor mat/carpet thing. Have carpet shampooer already, they work wonders when used relatively soon after.

MY LR is not large but I do have plenty of room for the bed after getting rid of the stupid chair and the whole stereo system that hasn't worked in years

What is going on?! Same scenario, but I finally got back to sleep around 5ish.
